Research Interests
Situated within the Mechanisms of Neurodegeneration group, my main focus is on the characterisation of global gene expression during the development of Downs syndrome and Alzheimers disease. In patients suffering from Downs syndrome one of the few unifying features, in a largely heterogeneous condition, is the development of the neuropathological markers of Alzheimers disease with age. Our research takes a fundamental step in understanding the biology of both conditions. Taking full advantage of the contemporary genomic revolution we are combining state of the art micro-array technology along with the worlds best animal models
